Freshman Father
Freshman Father is a Hallmark Channel Original Movie that has brought tears to many viewers eyes when it aired. Why, is this movie a tear-jerker? It depends on the kind of viewer actually. The movie is all about becoming a father at a very young age and beating the odds to still succeed despite the obstacles that come along.

The story is based on something that really happened in real life, John Patton (played by Drew Seeley) gets her girlfriend Kathy pregnant just a few weeks before graduating from high school. John plans to go to Harvard but with his girlfriend pregnant, it seems that the prospects are not quite good. But John and Kathy decides to keep the baby, get married and still go on with the original plan–go to college. The young couple goes to college and live in a house near Harvard. But marriage and schooling are not easy to mix so John fails in some of his classes. Kathy soon gives birth to the baby who they name Adam. But Kathy is not prepared for parenthood and the hardships that come along with it so he leaves John and baby Adam. John juggled schooling and fathering and passes through a lot of difficulties but in the end finishes his course.
The movie is really “cute” as some people say. This is Drew Seeley’s biggest role and he is able to really deliver in this film.
