De La Hoya is expected to announce the deal at Wednesday's press conference in NY to promote Alvarez's December 15 return at New York's Madison Square Garden when he moves up in weight to challenge secondary WBA super middleweight titleholder Rocky Fielding in the first bout of his new DAZN deal.
A third fight with Golovkin would be a natural after their draw and Alvarez's narrow victory in the rematch, but there would be plenty more options at middleweight if they don't meet again.
DAZN launched in the United States last month and is a subscription based services that charges customers $9.99 a month and will broadcast more than 80 fights a year.
Alvarez's 11-fight deal is the richest in sporting history.
Sadio Mane undergoes surgery, Reds release statement
Sadio Mane was taken to hospital yesterday ahead of Senegal's game against Sudan having reportedly broken his thumb. Mohamed Salah had to be withdrawn during his side's 4-1 win against eSwatini last Friday.
"This is easily one of the best days in the growing history of Golden Boy Promotions", said Oscar De La Hoya, Golden Boy Promotions Chairman and CEO. "More than anything, though, I'm happy that I could give great fights to fans".
"It's very important for me to give the fans the biggest fights and the most important fights, and I promise you I will always do that".
"Floyd is going to fight on December 31 and I'm going to fight January 12", Pacquiao said, per The Mirror's Martin Domin. "I've always liked a challenge, and this is yet another challenger in my career".
Alvarez is now the unified middleweight champion of boxing, coming off a majority decision win over Gennady Golovkin last month. "Forget about what the price is, the amount of money that we're making".
If he defeats Fielding - as expected - who's to say Alvarez can't go back down to 160 and thoroughly wipe out the slate, whether that includes Jacobs, a Jermall Charlo (once he comes off his suspension) and "GGG", who Canelo spoke with DAZN earlier about facing in a possible trilogy. It takes me 36 mins or less to make $300 million plus.
Alvarez, 28, is from Mexico.
