The new Alexa remote includes dedicated power and volume buttons (finally!) as well as an IR sensor for controlling soundbars and AV equipment.

Product & Marketing, Amazon India told ETtech that Fire Stick 4K is 80% faster than its predecessor Fire TV stick that made its India debut in April previous year.

The new Fire TV Stick will be available for $49.99 and start shipping at the end of this month in North America. It's available here, it's cheaper than Roku's stick, and it supports both HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision - the first device to do so without ditching the stick-shape.

The new Fire TV Stick 4K is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core processor, which promises faster video streaming and quick loading.

The hackers have also tried accessing profile information like name, gender, location and photos from the compromised accounts. Due to the breach, almost 90 million users were logged out of their accounts on the morning of last Friday.

Gupta added that one can also pair their Echo devices (if any) with the Fire TV to control their entertainment experience and launch apps using Alexa. The lack of those basic TV controls were a sticking point in our Fire TV Cube review earlier this year.

"We've listened to our customers and pushed to deliver the complete 4K solution they are looking for, all within a compact stick form factor", said Eric Saarnio, Head of Amazon Devices for Europe. The remote further includes "multidirectional infrared technology", so it'll work with auxiliary devices. It is also possible to view live camera feeds, check sports scores, order food, book a cab and stream songs using the remote control. The new remote also has power, volume and mute buttons.

The Fire Stick 4K, as the name suggests, is capable of showing UHD pictures, which will come as a relief for many users of Prime Video, as a lot of its original shows are filmed in the new format. Users in the UK, Germany, and India will have to wait until November 14 before orders begin shipping. The same shipping timeline goes for the single Alexa Voice Remote.

Amazon India on Wednesday, October 3 introduced Fire TV Stick 4K along with a new Alexa Voice Remote in India.
