Apple's new iPad Pro and MacBook Air were revealed at the company's October 2018 keynote, which took place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, New York.
One of the most welcome new features of the new MacBook Air is a 13.3-inch Retina display that's sharper, with better color and narrower bezels, than the more traditional, lower-resolution display on the previous MacBook Air. Apple has also brought Touch ID to the MacBook Air, using the same T2 security chip that appeared in the latest MacBook Pro and iMac Pro.
In terms of its tech specs, the new MacBook Air boasts an 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processor with Intel UHD Graphics and 2133 MHz system memory up to 16GB (8GB standard), with faster SSDs up to 1.5TB in capacity. First up, a totally redesigned MacBook Air, with a Retina display, headphone jack, and two USB-C ports.
Apple said the new laptop is also made from 100% recycled aluminium and is 10% thinner than the previous model, at 15.6mm thick and taking up 17% less volume.

How different is the new MacBook Air from the previous version? But what else does the new MacBook Air have to offer?
All of that with pretty much the same battery life promises as before - up to 12 hours of web browsing.
The new MacBook Air is available for Pre-Order from today and will ship on November 7.
And that display is pushed pretty much to the edges of the Air's lid, yet still leaves space for a FaceTime camera. We can hardly blame Apple for sticking with the knife's edge design of the original MacBook Air. The company also says it now uses custom alloy from excess aluminium, ensuring the laptop is built with 100-percent recycled aluminium, instead of high-grade aluminium in previous generations - which helps reduce the carbon footprint be almost 50 percent. You get a 3 generation butterfly keyboard which is the same as the ones you get in the current generation MacBook Pro, which means they're quieter and technically less prone to failure.
One of the things missing from the MacBook Air was a Full HD display, let alone a 4K screen. We'll update the guide periodically as new information about the notebook is available. There is also a brand new Force Touch trackpad, giving it 20 percent larger area. Finally, the T2 enables the new Air to have an always-on process listening for "Hey Siri" commands. "Unlike any notebook that's come before or since, MacBook Air has become the most beloved notebook ever".
