The United States Capitol Police told BuzzFeed that 293 people were arrested at the Hart building and another nine were arrested at a separate protest in the nearby Dirksen Senate Office building. CNN reports that Schumer was seen "being arrested".

The protest was held to oppose Kavanaugh's confirmation over accusations of sexual assault and misconduct from three women.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, has expressed support for Kavanaugh-who denied all allegations-recently angering some of his fellow Republicans by speaking against Ms Ford's testimony. Thousands packed the atrium of the Hart Senate office building, while streams of protesters flooded each floor with chants of "Our court" and "Justice now". "Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power", Ratajkowski tweeted.

"Well for starters I wasn't wearing a bra either", the I Feel Pretty star wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of herself with her dog.

27 year old model Emily Ratajkowski was another celebrity attending Thursday's march, also taking to social media to air her grievance against Kavanaugh's nomination.

Venom Movie Rotten Tomatoes Score Revealed - And It's Not Good
The story is a Jekyll-and-Hyde tale where Hardy's journalist character tries to keep Venom's bad behaviour under control. And also technology has evolved so much in that time that it felt like we could do a photo-real Venom for this movie.

Comedian Amy Schumer has been detained during a protest against Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination. "One time, the people that were for Kavanaugh wanted to be interviewed, and they said, 'We're only interested in interviewing people against Kavanaugh.' Now, that's a bias that none of you should be proud of".

She continued, "How about we show her the same courtesy and direct some of that toxic energy to the people who deserve it".

Among the arrested: comedian and actress Amy Schumer, a distant cousin of Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer of NY. During the rally, Amy, sided by her friend, addressed the crowds: "Let's stay together".

Senators are expected to vote on whether to appoint him to the court on Saturday, despite Professor Christine Blasey Ford's claims of sexual assault. But I want to show you where some of you have bias.
