Although no deal is done, the sides are getting close to an agreement, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Gordon, 27, originally joined Cleveland as a second-round draft pick in the 2012 supplemental draft.

Tropical Storm Isaac’s Winds Nearing Leeward Islands
Expect winds to increase on Saturday to 15-30mph across the entire CSRA, with the 30mph more likely in the northern/eastern areas. Joyce , previously a sub-tropical storm, has transitioned to a tropical storm in the central Atlantic, the U.S.

When told that both the Patriots and Browns released statements announcing the trade, Belichick said a little bit more goes into those deals beyond press releases coming out. Rapoport reported Monday evening the MRI on Gordon's hamstring "came out fine", which means Gordon could be active for the Patriots against the Detroit Lions in Week 3. Rather than outright releasing Gordon, the Browns are now trying to trade him to get something in return.

The Cleveland Browns have finally parted ways with wide receiver Josh Gordon. He reportedly showed up late to the team's training facility Saturday and was suffering from a hamstring injury. He's since been plagued by off-the-field issues and suspensions. Gordon earned Pro Bowl honors in 2013 and was named first-team All-Pro after finishing with 87 receptions and an NFL-leading 1,646 yards with nine touchdowns. However, he's been in a downward spiral since and Gordon was suspended by Commissioner Roger Goodell for the entire 2015 and 2016 seasons. When healthy, Gordon is one of the best in the game and could provide Tom Brady with a weapon he hasn't seen since Randy Moss. Coleman has played in 19 National Football League games with 18 starts and has 56 receptions for 718 yards and five touchdowns.
