Race 3 zoomed past the opening day collections of big-hitters like Baaghi 2, Padmaavat, Veere Di Wedding and PadMan.

There is surely a special connection between Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and Eid and whenever Salman Khan came up with his film on Eid.

The second day brought in Rs 38.14 crore (£4m) showing a 40 percent growth with numbers continuing to escalate on the third day, moving figures to cross the Rs 100 crore (£11m) mark and earning Rs 39.16 (£4m) at the box office that day.

Salman's films such as Tiger Zinda Hai, Bajrani Bhaijaan and Sultan also share the record of making Rs 100 crore at the box office within first three days of their release.

The start of that sequence was for bogey on the par-four 13th. "I would gladly take the two shots over continuing that display". It conjured up memories of John Daly hitting a moving ball that rolled off the green during the fourth round of the 1999 U.S.

This year there are larger than life cutouts of Salman around the theatres, and hundreds of customized "Race 3" T-shirts have been distributed.

Further talking about Salman's four Rs 100 crore grossers in flat three days, he tweeted, "Salman versus Salman - first 3 days". Following suit were films like Ready at Rs 120 crore, Bodyguard at Rs 144 crore, Ek Tha Tiger at Rs 186 crore, Dabangg 2 at Rs 149 crore, Jai Ho at Rs 109 crore, Kick at Rs 211 crore, Bajrangi Bhaijaan at Rs 315 crore, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo at Rs 194 crore, Sultan at Rs 300 crore, Tubelight at Rs 114 crore and Tiger Zinda Hai at Rs 339 crore.

Mr Adarsh also posted about Race 3's crucial Monday test. The plot seems to be confusing - or worse, senseless - the performances poor, dialogues impact-less and music forgetful. However, the question still remains if such feedback would dent or slow down Race 3, considering it is a Salman Khan movie. Apart from Salman, Race 3 also stars Jacqueline, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Freddy Daruwala, Saqib Saleem, and Daisy Shah. So how did his film perform at the Chennai Box Office? Race 3 is directed by Remo D'Souza.
