3 shot dead in 2 police shootings in Kansas City

Two sheriff's deputies were shot Friday inside a juvenile court services building in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a Wyandotte County spokesman.

The suspected shooter, who was also shot, was taken to a hospital as well.

Bailiff said their own firearms could have been used against them.

The deputy that died was identified as Deputy Patrick Rohrer, 35.

The deaths occurred in two separate police shootings in Kansas City, Missouri, on Thursday.

A suspect was reportedly shot during the incident and taken to an area hospital.

CBS affiliate KCTV reports the deputies are in critical condition.

Other law enforcement agencies in the Kansas City metro have been tweeting words of support and prayers for Wyandotte County, the Star said.
