Republican Lawmakers Say Donald Trump Deserves A Nobel Peace Prize

The Republican lawmakers have written in their letter that it is Trump's "peace through strength policies" that are bringing peace to the Korean peninsula and that his "tireless work" towards peace in this world deserves recognition.

The letter also says.

On April 27, North Korea and South Korea announced that they would work toward ending the Korean War, seek to reunify their countries, and that they will begin a process to denuclearize the Korean peninsula.

Leading the charge of the nomination is Rep Luke Messer from IN, who has something to gain from Trump's nomination.

President Donald Trump's closest Republican allies in Congress have nominated him for this year's Noble Peace Prize, giving him credit for pressuring North Korea into accepting a possible denuclearization.

Top Trump aide denies calling president an 'idiot'
Trump has reportedly chafed at Kelly's controlling management style, and has occasionally talked with friends about replacing him. This is another pathetic attempt to smear people close to President Trump and distract from the administration's many successes".

The award of the prize to Trump's Democratic predecessor, just a few months after he took office, had itself aroused surprise and strong reactions. During a re-election rally in MI on Saturday, the crowd broke out into a chant of "Nobel, Nobel" while Trump was discussing his efforts in North Korea. The president was telling those at the rally that he was just trying to get his job done, adding that his strength is what will keep the United States out of nuclear war. We saw that in President Reagan. According to Reuters, Moon said, "President Trump should win the Nobel Peace Prize".

But despite the significant and somewhat surprising progress toward that end, it's unlikely Trump could even be nominated for his efforts on North Korea this year.

The adviser, Chung Eui-Yong says, "I explained to President Trump that his leadership and his maximum pressure policy, together with worldwide solidarity, brought us to this juncture".

"I thought it was very generous of President Moon of South Korea to make that statement, and I appreciate it", Trump said Tuesday. If Trump receives the esteemed prize, he will be the fifth US President to do so, the last being his predecessor Barack Obama.

First point of order would be to clarify that this is an absurd point and that the potential of peace to the region is in spite of Donald Trump's foreign policy jibes at North Korea. Former Vice President Al Gore also received the award.
