Among those at the meeting were the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; and the former Interim National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande. "But what we want is the general happiness of the leaders of the party, the contestants and our party".

This is even as the party has announced Friday as the new date for the conclusion of the botched exercise.

Speaking with newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, the APC Chieftain said it was not true that hoodlums hijacked the process, but it was brought to a halt by aspirants agents and party members when irregularities and electoral malfeasance was noticed.

The meeting, which started over an hour ago, is holding at the Lagos State Government Lodge Annex, Asokoro, Abuja.

A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Ekiti Governorship Election and Minister of Solid Minerals, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has denied the news making the rounds that he had been disqualified from the rescheduled primary.

Carolyn Fairbairn, CBI Director-General, welcomed Clark's comments, saying "frictionless trade" was a priority for business. It would be, as it were, implementing as soon as you can do... there will be different parts that can be done immediately.

In an attempt to get it right, the opposition All Progressives Congress has cancelled last Saturday's Ekiti governorship primary election and ordered that a fresh election should be held on Friday.

"As opposed to the Delegates System, the Aspirants believe Direct Primary election is more transparent, less monetised and energises the democratic system through the participation and involvement of the generality of the party members".

"The Aspirants encouraged the leaders to further discuss with the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, on the way forward".

On whether a consensus candidate would be considered for the election, Akande said that may be an option for the aspirants. This led to speculations that he had stormed out of the meeting.

As contained in the statement, Fayemi spokesperson said, "The Minister, however, said he could not make the second part of the meeting when it reconvened later in the evening, having earlier taken permission from the leaders to attend another meeting". After the first session, the leaders took a break and met aspirants separately before returning.
