Terming the Congress President as "Naamdaar", PM Modi said that he would not know about the "Kaamdaars" as the Congress had nothing but contempt for the poor and the labourers of India whereas the BJP believed in democracy and democratic ideals. However, BJP's Karnataka Chief Ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa later rejected the prediction and said that he would form the next government in the southern state. "Congress can not tolerate that our government that got the majority, a person from a humble background like me became the Prime Minister", added Modi.

He also invoked Mysore ruler Chamaraja Wodeyar, Kannada writer GP Rajarathnam, actor Rajkumar, and said the district needs to solve its drinking-water crisis.

"Congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has declared himself a Kannadiga".

He also referred to his background and said Congress is jealous as a person from humble background became the Prime Minister.

And after this he addressed a public meeting in Chikmanglur.

"It is extremely shameful that the Congress government has allowed violence in the state and several BJP party workers were murdered. If he fails in the election, at least his son will continue his legacy the family business of politics". If the BJP wins, Yeddyurappa will become the Chief Minister for the second time. But the BJP would ensure that people's politics will not prevail in the state.
