Spring snowstorm has arrived; 5th storm since early March in Lehigh Valley

Hard travel conditions are possible during morning and evening commutes with reduced visibility. The snow in NYC is expected to wrap up its business by 10 a.m. and melt completely by the afternoon. Many roads are snow covered or snow and ice covered with reduced visibilities due to blowing and drifting snow. Light snow is going to fall Monday night into Tuesday morning, with the snow picking up in intensity on Tuesday. The latest storm follows a string of nor'easters that hit the East Coast in March, with heavy snows and damaging winds that knocked out power to more than 2 million customers at their peak.

Winter weather is making a comeback Monday, as a fast-moving storm paces through the Northeast coating much of the area with snow just in time for the morning commute.

In northwest Minnesota, a blizzard warning has been issued for Traverse, Wilkin, Norman and Clay counties.

According to local meteorologists, the last time the NYC saw April snow showers was in 2006 although it was less than an inch (about 2.5 cm).

Snowfall totals on Sunday will be 1 to 3 inches along I-70 from Kansas City to Indianapolis, with isolated higher totals.

But, winter is hanging around like an unwelcome guest, with a chance of rain turning to snow in the forecast Friday and Saturday.
