Nigerians speak their minds to Anthony Joshua

Joshua now holds three of the four major title belts with only the WBC version held by Deontay Wilder 40-0 (39-0) eluding him.

Despite missing out on a KO win, Joshua now has the experience of going the championship distance.

"I'm gonna go for a run now that I'm in good shape".

Parker's next steps are not known as of yet, but he had expressed is eagerness at a potential rematch with AJ shortly after the fight should it be accepted. That is not to say that Deontay Wilder will be a push over.

"You also said on Saturday that your team is ready to meet with [my promoter] Shelly Finkel and [my adviser] Al Haymon from my side to get this deal done". It is the fight which the world wants to see outside of an all British clash between Joshua & Tyson Fury, that particular fight could very well be the most lucrative all British contest and one of the most lucrative in global boxing.

'We want to make it public that Deontay wants the fight, and we are prepared to come over, or meet here and get the deal done, ' he said.

Severe storms possible Tuesday night
No widespread severe weather is expected, but one or two storms could have damaging straight line winds and/or large hail. Another cold front is likely to move through our area on Monday with scattered showers and storms.

With the American under fire, his scheduled media call was cancelled this afternoon, but not before he gleefully accepted Joshua's invitation for a rumble on United Kingdom soil. We want to relax and enjoy ourselves and look forward to the future.

Wilder aside, who else is there for Joshua?

If the victory over Wladimir Klitschko a year ago proved he had the punching power, then his points victory over Joseph Parker revealed he has the nous and, more importantly, the staying power to be viewed as the best around. Nobody buys that! Wilder is the undefeated WBC champ and after seven successful title defenses, he has nothing left to prove.

"We are prepared to meet as soon as possible, anywhere, anytime, and when I meet Matchroom I will have the authority to make the deal".

But while some believe that Anthony Joshua is successful in boxing because he never represented Nigeria, others advised him not to come back to the country of his birth. With all the meaningful heavyweight hardware on the line, the fight doesn't need to marinate.

Maybe we'll get lucky and we'll get the only heavyweight fight the fans truly hunger for, and that's Joshua vs. Beyond Wilder and Povetkin, the most unsafe tests are rematches against Parker and British rival Dillian Whyte.
