The robbery happened in the 300 block of South Tyler at ABC Liquor Store at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
The suspect, a white male, threatened a female clerk with the hypodermic needle at the 668 Chestnut St. store just before 4:30 a.m. and demanded money, said Lynn Police Lt. Mike Kmiec.
Police say Charles got into a silver vehicle and fled the scene.
Police say they arrested Eric Pombier, age 37 of Madison, after evidence collected from the crime scene linked back to him.
"Anytime you get a spike of robberies within a short duration of time, there's usually a substantial likelihood they're going to involve the same people", Lt. Joe Iozzi with the Leesburg Police Department said.

Another video, at an automated teller machine, showed a Kia Soul - which matched the description of the stolen vehicle - coming into town before the holdup, and leaving toward Glen Lake afterward, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said. As officers converged on the area, it's believed that a University of Delaware Officer spotted the suspect, near the intersection at Marrows Road and Wyoming Road, and was able to take the 25-year-old man into custody.
"If the victim wants to use that (technology) then it's up to the victim", she said.
