They've also said the main studio behind the game, Treyarch, has thus been focusing on multiplayer and the now annualized zombie mode. That mode is meant to "fill the content gap" caused by the lack of a single-player campaign, and it'll reportedly be created by Raven Software.
According to the sources cited in the report, developer Treyarch made it known the mode wouldn't be finished in time for the game's release date, which is expected in October or November.
"As Black Ops 4's release date approached, it became evident that development on the single-player campaign wouldn't be completed", reads the report on Polygon.
An Activision spokesperson told Polygon in a statement that "We don't comment on rumor and speculation". In some sense, it gives credence to the report's claims of not being able to meet deadlines to finish a sufficient campaign. The latest entry, WWII, was no exception but it appears that Black Ops 4 is looking to break that mold.at least according to reports.
More than 200 million eggs recalled due to possible salmonella contamination
You may want to check your eggs as more than 200 million are being recalled because of potential salmonella contamination. There would be a full refund for all consumers who have purchased the recalled eggs.
Then there's Charlie INTEL' s claim that Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered curiously cuts the game's multiplayer mode to highlight its iconic single-player campaign instead.
Polygon alleges that they have sources confirming that the next step of th Black Ops franchise won't feature its traditional story-mode, though our own sources state otherwise. Through this new sales model, it seems Activision might be trying to split Call Of Duty into two yearly revenue streams instead of one.
None of this is likely to sound farfetched to most readers but it's worth reiterating we probably won't know for sure until the game's official reveal on May 17th. It will be fully revealed May 17.
