Alexa Skill Blueprints let you create custom responses and customized Alexa Skills for your personal pleasure and added convenience, and judging by Amazon's description of the new function for its smart digital assistant, users of Alexa-powered devices like the Echo will have a wide array of possible options on bringing a little more personalization to their Alexa experiences. You can create your own family trivia game Skill, for instance, instead of using the existing Jeopardy!

The Skill Blueprints program, which is rolling out today to Amazon Echo devices, allow owners to create their own "personalized" skills and responses for Alexa.

There are more than 20 Skill Blueprints across four categories at launch, which are At Home, Fun & Games, Storyteller, and Learning & Knowledge. Where IFTTT connects with all manner of apps and services, Alexa Blueprints is mostly still kept to itself. All you have to do is start filling in the blanks on the company's website. The forms are already filled out with examples and can be used as is, but the fun comes with editing the default material to make them personalized. For the example of the Quiz skill, the user must choose how Alexa will introduce the Quiz, greet players, respond to their quiz answers, and respond to a player winning the quiz.

Alexa users can now build their very own Alexa Skills without any code.

Once you have entered the content, click the "Next: Experience" button at the top right-hand corner of the screen. Amazon has an Alexa Blueprints page set up with 21 templates (more to come). If it's a trivia skill, Alexa will open the skill and start asking you trivia questions that you've added to the skill. You'll also be able to enable, disable and delete your skills. Kids have readily taken to Alexa, and today there are almost 500 public Alexa skills built for kids alone.

After you've created the custom skill, it will be available in the Skills You've Made webpage on the Blueprints site.
