Porn star Stormy Daniels has formally offered to pay back the $130,000 she took to keep quiet about her alleged affair with President Donald Trump in order to be allowed to talk publicly about that tryst.
An attorney for Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, sent a letter to Mr Trump's lawyer on Monday saying she would wire the money to Mr Trump if she could speak openly about their relationship.
It would be highly unlikely Cohen would accept the offer - he recently went to court to get a restraining order to prevent her from talking about the NDA.
She already has conducted an interview with contributor Anderson Cooper, although it is not known when the show will air.
The offer is due to remain open only until noon Tuesday, according to the letter.
"This has never been about the money", Michael Avenatti, Daniels' lawyer, told NBC News.
Trump addresses link between violent video games, crime
Criticizing the violent content in the video games, Donald Trump said that the video games, internet and movies are so violent. Ahead of the meeting, industry representatives argued that there was no correlation between video games and gun violence .
Although Clifford has been making public appearances around the country, she's remained silent about the alleged 2006 affair with the president after receiving the hush money from Cohen just before the 2016 USA presidential election.
I'm confident a GoFundMe campaign to raise a 130K for Daniels-I'm guessing she spent the money Cohen paid her in October-would be a success.
Cohen admitted last Friday that he had used a line of credit based on the value of his own home to gather the $130,000 to pay Daniels, and had used his Trump Organization email - the president's business empire - to communicate about the payment.
The POTUS was addressing the crowd at a Pennsylvania political rally on the weekend, when he spoke out Melania's role as his wife - and her duties in the White House.
Both the White House and Trump have repeatedly denied allegations regarding the 2006 affair.
Almost two weeks ago, Cohen obtained a temporary restraining order against Daniels in private arbitration, where the contract says any disputes about the arrangement must be heard.
In January, the tabloid weekly InTouch published a 2011 interview with Daniels in which she described having sex with Trump, but her description in that interview was unremarkable, saying, "It was textbook generic".
