Mario just drove his kart right into Google Maps

Nintendo and Google have teamed up to celebrate National Mario Day (which is actually March 10th) with a special Google Maps tribute to Mario Kart.

With Mario Day is right around the corner (March 10- MAR10) it looks like Google is putting on a little celebration. Mario will be available as a simple position marker across Google Maps worldwide for a week. March 10. Mario. Get it?

It's a shame you can't choose various characters from the Super Mario Kart game, but this is Mario Day after all - not Toad or Bowser Day. Nintendo's beloved red-capped plumber has started cropping up in Google Maps. You will need to update your app in order to access this feature, but doing so should trigger a prompt that requests permission to replace the standard tracker with Mario. - Mario. He'll be a constant companion wherever you're driving this week - to work, to school, or the spaghetti house. Mario's creators are having a pretty good time as well, as the Switch is able to claim retail success as it closes out its first fiscal year of availability.

However, when contacted by Willamette Week she maintained that Cuban had assaulted her. Cuban also denied the allegations in an email to the paper.

Google is also asking users to share photos of their adventures as Mario on Instagram and Twitter with @GoogleMaps and the hashtag #MarioMaps.

The company has in the past unleashed Pac-Man on city streets in Maps, let Google Maps streetview users go inside Doctor Who's TARDIS, and has let you travel by Loch Ness Monster, among other things.
