'Iron Man' director Favreau to create 'Star Wars' TV series

Because our own nostalgia has doomed us to an eternity of Star Wars content, Disney has now added a live-action television series to its production slate.

Favreau has been a Disney regular, having directed the first two "Iron Man" films for Marvel and 2016's "The Jungle Book".

"It's unlike anything that exists today", Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks and Resorts said previous year, "From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story". He kickstarted the MCU with Iron Man and has since directed Iron Man 2, The Jungle Book and is now working on The Jungle Book 2. He is now producing Disney's remake of "The Lion King" movie. "I couldn't be more excited about Jon coming on board to produce and write for the new direct-to-consumer platform", said Lucasfilm president, Kennedy. "I cant wait to embark upon this exciting adventure", Favreau said in a statement.

Favreau has played roles in both the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series and in the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story.
