The online giant, however, is not interested in maintaining the Toys "R" Us brand, but it will use the stores for its own purposes. Toys R Us has more than 700 stores in the US.

The company that bought KB Toys, which closed several years ago, is reportedly in talks to open pop-up locations in malls this holiday season. Those closures will put 31,000 people out of work and hurt toy manufacturers that depended on the national retailer for distribution.

"We're just as excited about the toys as the kids who come in", said Chip Honer, head of game development at Legacy Toys.

With more than 5 billion items shipped worldwide in 2017, Amazon is expanding rapidly.

Toys R Us Australia has also said it is "business as usual" despite the US collapse.

Winter Storm Watch issued for parts of region
The weather service is forecasting total accumulations of 5 to 8 inches of snow - with up to 11 inches possible in areas. The main impact of this system, Brink said, includes tornadoes, very strong, large hail and damaging winds.

Whole Foods is working towards streamlining its supplier process across the U.S., to help ensure all store are operating under the same rules and - where possible - using the same, or approved suppliers.

Another puzzling question about Toys "R" Us' future is whether the brand will live on after the stores are wiped out.

Toys "R" Us is present in 19 locations in the Middle East and North Africa region.

They plan to have their stores up and running before Christmas. They would buy some of the shutdown store and turn them into their own space.

Toys R Us' collapse is in part due to growing pressure from Amazon, which has disrupted the entire sector by offering numerous same items at significantly lower prices and with the convenience of delivery. It has no plan to keep the brand name, though, according to Bloomberg.
