The path to the Super Bowl in the AFC goes through New England. It was also Bill Belichick's 250th career regular-season win, moving him into a tie with Tom Landry for third all-time among head coaches.

New England finishes the regular season with a record of 13-3. Safety Marcus Maye was called for a 39-yard pass interference penalty early in the second quarter that set up a 5-yard TD pass from Brady to Cooks that made it 14-3.

The Patriots last lost a playoff game at home during the 2013 playoffs when the Baltimore Ravens defeated them 28-13 in the AFC Championship Game. The Pats offense sputtered throughout, leaning heavily on Dion Lewis to create yards.

The offense then hit a cold spell as the Jets harassed Brady and erased Gronkowski with a host of heavy coverages while he still had a full workload. Brady closed down the opening drive by completing six consecutive passes for 50 yards, including four for 43 yards to Danny Amendola, and Lewis gave the Patriots a 7-0 lead with a 3-yard scoring run.

The New York Jets should be no different.

At least 10 killed in Cairo church attack: Egypt Health Ministry
At least one militant was killed in a shootout outside a church south of Cairo on Friday, state-media reported. It also said there was a separate attack on a store in the same neighborhood of Helwan that killed two Copts.

Gostkowski would add a 21-yard field goal in the third quarter to put the Patriots up 24-3.

Lewis spearheaded the rushing attack against the Jets, finding the end zone once through the air and once on the ground.

It didn't take long for the Pats to jump out in front, and they ended up cruising to a 26-6 victory over the Jets to close out 2017.

James Harrison, signed by New England last Tuesday after being cut by Pittsburgh, had two sacks - on consecutive plays to end the game - and finished with five total tackles and a forced fumble.

The Patriots will have a bye in next week's wild-card round of the playoffs.
