According to the Hindustan Times, the Palestinian move came after India strongly objected to the envoy's presence at the DPC rally. This is not acceptable that a Palestinian Ambassador shared the stage with a terrorist wanted by India.
Walid Abu Ali, the Palestinian envoy, shared the stage with Hafiz Saeed, the head of hard-line Jamaat-ud-Dawa movement at a demonstration on Friday protesting the United States decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Miffed with photos of Palestinian Ambassador sharing the dais with Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has made a decision to register the protest with Palestinian authorities.
"On the basis of the principled and firm Palestinian position, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates considered the participation of our ambassador in Pakistan in a mass rally in solidarity with Jerusalem, held in Rawalpindi on Friday and in the presence of individuals accused of supporting terrorism is an unintended mistake, but not justified".
"The Palestinian side has conveyed deep regrets over the incident and assured the Government of India that they are taking serious cognizance of their Ambassador's presence at this event", the external affairs ministry said in a statement on Saturday.

India was among 128 United Nations member states, including Pakistan, to vote for a non-binding resolution rejecting Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel earlier this month. He had gone to Rawalpindi to attend the event which was organised to further the voices of Palestine's people.
The rally featured several jihadi leaders, including Saifullah Khalid of the Milli Muslim League, a political party formed by Saeed, and Abdul Rehman Makki of the Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD) The event was attended by thousands, including members of the JuD. In fact, when Saeed spoke, he asked people around him who he was... and then the Ambassador gave his own speech and left the stage. A western diplomat based in Islamabad said, "This was a case of poor judgment by the Palestinian Ambassador". His appearance and support for Pakistan - and Pakistani terrorists - was seen as a major slap in the face to India.
