An Amber Alert has been issued for two girls who may have been abducted by a 44-year-old man, officials said.

The girls' mother, Tonya Bates, was found deceased in her home New Year's Eve after authorities went there in response to a welfare check.

14-year-old Lilianais Griffith and 7-year-old Luluvioletta Bandera-magret were declared missing Sunday, Dec. 31, in relation to a suspicious death.

"Our concern and our focus is in bringing these two young girls home safe", said Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks, according to the Austin American-Statesman. She has a right nose stud and braces. "I was speechless at first because that never happened next door to where I live".

Police believe Miles may be headed to Louisiana, according to the Dallas Morning News.
