WhatsApp statuses have several features in common with Stories, including the fact that they disappear after 24 hours. The stories shared via Instagram on WhatsApp will also feature a small Instagram logo in the bottom right corner.

Looks like Facebook-owned two services, WhatsApp and Instagram may be getting a shared feature that will allow users to post stories from Instagram on WhatsApp. A freeware and cross-platform which allows exchanging of text messages, voice and video calls, media and documents has made our life a lot easier. The official rollout of the feature may happen soon, though the timeline hasn't been decided as of yet.

As reported by Techcrunch, Facebook has now introduced an option for cross-posting updates on both platforms.

This cross-posting could be useful for people who want to share their experiences on both Instagram and WhatsApp without having to double post the same content.

Egypt hot air balloon crash: casualties reported
In a similar incident in 2013, 19 tourists from Europe and Asia, were killed when a sightseeing balloon caught fire in Luxor. The Karnak Temple Complex, which dates back to around 2000 B.C., is located within the modern-day city.

In July, WhatsApp announced that 55 billion messages (4.5 billion photos and 1 billion videos) are sent every day on average, so the numbers aren't particularly surprising.

According to the tests, the feature places the same Story in WhatsApp, though users would still have to open the messaging app and confirm the post. While both Instagram and WhatsApp are Facebook-owned, that accessible code shortcut is what's now making the cross-posting possible for users who are included in the test.

What new features would you like to see come to WhatsApp or Instagram this year? It's pretty popular, boasting of over 300 million daily active users. Adding the ability to share stories to WhatsApp will give it more popularity, especially in countries like India where WhatsApp is already a popular messaging platform.
