Pakistan in Outrage over Rape and Murder of Zainab Ansari

Hundreds of protesters enraged over the murder of a young girl threw stones at government buildings in Kasur for a second day on Thursday, amid growing outrage over the killing.

However, Rangers and police personnel are still deployed at sensitive places to avoid any untoward situation.

Violence broke out Wednesday when demonstrators tried to storm the police station, the police official said.

Sajid said that up to 20 suspects had been apprehended "but the investigators have been unable to find any clue so far".

While Zainab's parents were on a pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia and buying toys for their little girl, "a monster in Pakistan was raping her and throwing her body" into a rubbish pile, she said.

Later, he was caught by locals and handed over to police.

"Police are not cooperating with us", claimed Ghulam Rasool, an uncle of Zainab. "We do not want such an inadequate system".

The chief minister ordered that the charge-sheet for the case should be presented in court within 24 hours. They also blocked main road for traffic, demanding to hang the culprit in public so that no such incident will happen in future.
