"Being safe doesn't mean you can't have fun and Long Beach Transit will be there on New Year's Eve to get you safely to your destination", LBT Deputy Chief Executive Officer Debra A. Johnson said in a statement.

The Alert Cab services in Orange, Sullivan and Rockland counties will once again offer rides home from bars on New Year's Eve compliments of Dana Distributors in Goshen. Service depends on fixed-route service operating in the same area.

Longview transit has announced it will be providing a "safe-ride-home" on New Year's Eve for the tenth consecutive year. "It's our way of saying thank you for making Metro the nation's best transit system, and we look forward to riding with you next year".

"We want people to go have a good time and know they can get home safely, affordably, and reliably", said King County Councilmember Dave Upthegrove, who proposed the idea.

Power outage shuts down some rides at Disneyland
The Disneyland spokesperson told NBC News that the outage was a result of "an issue with a transformer" but did not elaborate. A power outage at Disneyland caused guests to get stuck on rides Wednesday, and the frustration was aired on social media.

The free rides will operate from 10 p.m.

There will also be expanded train and bus service that night, according to the transit agency.

There will be an extra hour of rail service and an additional trip to the B Line at 12:30 a.m. Monday.

Additionally, the First Hill Streetcar will operate until 1 AM. Routes with added service include the 1, 3, 4, 32, and RapidRide D Line. A regular valid fare will be required on Sound Transit Express buses. Fareboxes and ORCA card readers will be covered to remind riders not to pay.
