Citing brisk ticket sales, Georgia Lottery officials announced Friday the Mega Millions estimated jackpot has been bumped from $247 million to $253 million for Friday's drawing.

If a MI player hits the Mega Millions jackpot, it would be the largest Mega Millions jackpot in the state.

The last time there was a Powerball jackpot victor was October 26 with a single ticket worth $191.1 million.

Mega Millions drawings are every Tuesday and Friday.

Powerball, which also costs $2 per ticket, also offers two payment options: $191 million in cash or the $300 million paid out over 30 payments.
