The goal set by the company comes on the backing of 3 million Bharat smartphone units it sold since the series introduction. The Micromax Bharat 5 has a MediaTek chipset but the company has not specified the model number.
Micromax has earlier launched Bharat 1, Bharat 2, Bharat 3 and Bharat 4 smartphones. The Bharat 5 was launched in India at Rs 5,555 and delivers the typical entry-level smartphone specifications save for that massive 5,000 mAh battery.
Coming to connectivity options, Micromax Bharat 5 includes 4G VoLTE, OTG support, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and micro USB port. The battery of the phone is 5000mAh and that is why the tagline of the Micromax Bharat 5 smartphone is "The Power of 5". It will be available across India via offline retail stores.
The smartphone will be available for sale from December 7 exclusively on Flipkart and Mi Official website. It stands in fierce competition to rivals such as the Xiaomi Redmi 5A, which too banks customers on its battery power. This is the most expensive Bharat phone so far as the Bharat 4 came at around Rs 4,999.
