Margot Robbie confirms 'totally separate' Harley Quinn movie in the works

Horowitz asked Robbie if she'd produce the next movie that Harley Quinn appears in. So far, there have been reports of a sequel to Suicide Squad, the spin-off Gotham City Sirens and a separate film focusing on the Joker and Harley.

Robbie spoke to MTV about the project, which she says she's been working on for two years and is unrelated to the other projects that have been discussed. Even with Margot Robbie's fairly comic book-accurate portrayal of the character, the film altered quite a few aspects of her origin story and personality that weren't entirely in-line with the version of the character introduced back in Batman: The Animated Series. The only clue to this is that she says she has been working on it for two years.

The plan for Gotham City Sirens is to do just that. "She needs other girls around her because she loves that.' And you see it in the comics, she loves meeting people, any people, but she needs a little girl gang". There's a lot going on right now. It doesn't seem to be Suicide Squad 2 either, so this will probably be a solo project featuring the character. Robbie has done a great job at portraying Quinn, so anything she's in should make for a fun film.

The airline said pilots had responded well to an offer of 1.5 times normal hourly pay to give up days off and take the unassigned flights.

Is there such a thing as too much Harley Quinn? I kept saying when we were shooting Suicide Squad, 'She needs her girlfriends.

No other details were disclosed at press time - it is under lock and key, after all - but this certainly cements Harley Quinn's future (and Margot Robbie's) in the DC Extended Universe.

"It's so weird when people want to know about you because you're like, wait, my whole job is not being me. Me?" You want to show them the characters they fell in love with, but you also can't be paralyzed by the idea of 'How do we please everyone?' because it's just not going to happen with any film. Which project are you the most excited about?
