Dana White Reportedly Meeting with Floyd Mayweather About MMA Fight

Speaking to ESPN, the UFC president said: "Let's get through the holidays, hopefully he starts to get the itch to come back and hopefully we can get him back this summer".

I said don't count anything out on him coming over to the UFC, that anything is possible.... In the meantime, the UFC crowned an interim lightweight champion in Tony Ferguson in October.

"Money is always a factor but we've never had a problem getting a deal done with Conor McGregor".

Ferguson just recently had elbow surgery and was expected to return sometime around March or April.

That's certainly a new wrinkle being added to the potential plans for McGregor upon his return, as White had previously been adamant that he had to fight Ferguson to unify the titles. It's going to be interesting.

While Mayweather has never competed in an MMA fight, one thing he has done is defeat UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor in a boxing match this past August.

And in Montgomery County, Maryland, lawmakers rushed to pass legislation that would allow prepayment. In Tisbury, tax collector Jon Snyser said the phones have been ringing for two straight weeks.

"If I chose to get in the UFC and fight three fights or fight four fights and then fight Conor McGregor, I could make a billion dollars".

"There's two different sides to this coin".

Although Georges St-Pierre has said he looks forward to working with the UFC moving forward, Dana White apparently believes...once again...that the star's done fighting.

"Right now, I don't really have a feel on what Conor wants to do".

Dana White has spoken negatively of the prospects of a McGregor return in the past, however he's now hinted at a possible time frame while he claims the opponent is a certainty.

White called the situation a "mess" and said a fight on Saturday between Khabib Nurmagomedov (24-0 MMA, 8-0 UFC) and Edson Barboza (19-4 MMA, 13-4 UFC) at UFC 219 will begin to clear the blockage at the top of the lightweight division. The Irish champ, who reportedly banked more than $100 million for "The Money Fight", has said he wants an ownership stake in the UFC, which White won't entertain. "If I choose to get in the Octagon and fight".
