Danley, who 7 News reports moved to the U.S.in 1989, landed at Los Angeles International Airport late Tuesday and was met by federal agents.

The woman said Danley was "a good person" who would've stopped Paddock had she been in a position to do so.

It was not immediately clear where she was being taken.

Speaking for the first time on Tuesday night, Ms Danley's family said they believed Paddock had sent her away deliberately in the run up to the attacks.

Reports also indicated that Danley had been in a long-term relationship with Paddock and the pair had been living together prior to Sunday's shooting, which is now regarded as the most fatal incident in modern USA history. His family said they don't know Stephen Paddock and had no knowledge of he and Marilou's relationship. A person listed as the witness to Danley's divorce insisted to the Reno Gazette-Journal that she is not connected with Paddock's behavior.

Immigration documents in the Philippines say that Danley first arrived there on September 15, departed on September 22 then returned three days later on a flight from Hong Kong.
