There have been no new developments in her case according to WFAA reporter, David Goins. The arrest affidavit states: "He directed his daughter to stand near a large tree at 3 a.m. because she wouldn't drink her milk".

Mathews told police he saw coyotes in the alley where he left his daughter. The family reported her missing almost five hours later, at 8 a.m. Saturday, KXAS reported.

Matthews' 4-year-old was placed in foster care, the Dallas News reported. Police said she was extremely malnourished when the family took her in so it wasn't uncommon for her to stay up late to eat to try and increase her weight.

An Amber Alert was issued for the girl Saturday afternoon and continued Monday afternoon.

Wesley Mathews was arrested Saturday for abandoning or endangering a child.

As it stands, city, county and state law enforcement are all working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to try and find little Sherin Mathews. She has development issues and limited verbal communication skills. Cops here, some neighbors out.

Police said Mathews didn't contact authorities until hours later.
