When Motorola launched the Moto Z lineup of smartphones a year ago, they were adamant about the concept of Moto Mods becoming "the next thing" in the world of smartphones. The Moto Mod smart speaker will be available for purchase via both Amazon and Motorola websites in the U.S., the United Kingdom, and Germany starting from November. What the program does is give Amazon Prime customers the chance to get a new phone at a discounted price, so folks looking for a deal may want to give this Moto X4 a look. If you own a Moto Z, this is the accessory that is always ready to make your day go smoothly. Ask Alexa to request a ride home after an evening out or read the items on your grocery list so you don't have to bother searching for your phone in pockets or bags while navigating the crowded store.
Last week I wrote about two new upcoming Moto Mods.
Roy Price Resigns as Amazon Studios Head
What happened after she went public? The same day Hackett came forward last week, Amazon suspended Price. When an Amazon spokesman confirmed his resignation this morning, they gave no additional comment.
The Moto Mod smart speaker measures 153.2 x 73.2 x 22.8 mm in dimensions and weighs in at 168 grams. Some might find it hard to digest the need for a separate module with Alexa, when there already is Google Assistant on-board the Moto Z. Even the pricing is a little concerning, since it costs $149.99 - which covers the cost of an Echo as well as an Echo Dot. This is also the reason why the Moto Mod comes with a dock design. The speaker mod is powered with a 15 hours of built-in battery life so it won't drain your phone. However, Moto Mods never caught up with the people, partly because of the high prices and partly because of a lack of variety in accessories.
Users that have compatible Moto Z smartphones will really have to think about buying this new Moto Mod. As the Echo devices were finally launched by the online retail giant Amazon earlier this month, we can also expect that this feature would be made available in India as well.
