Haryana Police on Thursday arrested three cops from Panchkula for allegedly conspiring to help Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh escape from the courtroom after his conviction on August 25. Charged with inciting violence in Panchkula which killed at least 40 people, he is likely to be presented before a court in Panchkula.

The same court had, on August 25, convicted Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh on two counts of rape of female disciples.

The Haryana Police also arrested the sect's IT head Vineet Insaan from Sirsa. A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including sedition, has been registered against him by the Haryana Police. The CBI court is hearing the cases of murder of journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati and former Dera manager Ranjit Singh.

He further alleged that the police closed the case on ridiculous grounds, addressing Ram Rahim as Guruji in the final report (FR) and even refused to admit the existence of DPS Dutta.

Recession Officially Over for Median Household Income

Contingents of paramilitary troops and the Haryana Police have been stationed in Panchkula to prevent any untoward incident, he said. The hearing will take place through video conferencing as Ram Rahim is lodged in the District Jail in Sunaria near Rohtak.

Haryana police had sent teams to states including Himachal Pradesh and Punjab in a bid to trace them, Panchkula Police Commissioner A S Chawla said.

Earlier a lookout notice was issued against Dera Sacha Sauda chief and rape convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim's adopted daughter Honeypreet Insan.
