Warriors set to make their claim as NBA's best ever

After two lopsided losses to start the N.B.A. finals, the Cavaliers fell in line behind him as they spent much of last night fending off the Golden State Warriors. If they win Game 4 in Cleveland on Friday, they'll become the first team in National Basketball Association history to sweep every round of the playoffs on the way to a championship. Now Cleveland, which a year ago became the first team to recover from a 3-1 Finals deficit, faces historically long odds again.

Golden StateWarriors, powered by Kevin Durant's clutch scoring in the closing minutes, rallied to beat defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers 118-113 on Wednesday in the NBA Finals, moving one victory from the first ideal play-off run in league history.

"I just saw an undeniable will to win", Thomas said. "I played against some great teams, but I don't think no team has had this type of firepower", James said after Wednesday's loss.

The Cavaliers will likely be looking for any other sources of motivation they can get before Monday's Game 5 in Oakland.

LeBron James hasn't slowed the Warriors, and he's hardly alone. By the time the game was over the Warriors had taken the victory away with an 118-113 win after #Kevin Durant took over the end of the ballgame.

Splash brothers Thompson and Stephen Curry totaled for 11 of the Warriors 16 threes on the night with Thompson having the hot hand early, erupting for 16 points in the opening period before finishing the game with 30 points.

That's a bold statement considering James has played in the last seven NBA Finals and eight of the last 11, and is averaging 32 points, 12.3 rebounds and 10.3 assists in the first three games of this series.

"It's not over. Job's not done", said Durant. It's sports. You have an opportunity to sign one of the best players and you can do it, go ahead and do it. That ball movement has resulted in 94 assists for Golden State through the first three games compared to 59 assists for Cleveland. "Another challenge for us, another challenge for us to get better and go against a great team", he said.

They will again have to rewrite the record books if they can recover this position, but with the Warriors seeking revenge for previous year that will be some ask. He finally got some help from Kyrie Irving, who racked up 38 points and so many highlight plays I lost count. Curry hit a layup and after both James and Irving missed for the Cavs, Durant dropped his 3 - a shot that could be the one most remembered in this magnificent run by the Warriors.
