All new MacBook Pro's will now come powered by Intel's newest Kaby Lake processors. There's two new 21.5-inch iMacs, but its the new 27-inch model that's going to be of most interest to Digital Arts readers. The iMac comes with support for USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt.
Prices are sticking at US$1,099 for the entry level 21.5-inch iMac, while the top-end 27-inch 5K model stays at $1,799.
The 15-inch MacBook Pro now comes with more powerful discrete graphics in its standard configuration.

Motion tracking, ambient lighting and scale estimation will let developers create augmented reality in their own apps. Ahead of the Cupertino firm's Worldwide Developer Conference tonight, a new app has been spotted on the app store.
The iMacs above will no doubt be really quick and perfectly usable computers, but Apple teased the new Pro version which makes them seem a bit meh, really. The 13-inch model is starting at $1,299 and the 15-inch one, at $2,399.

This is also the first 12-inch Retina MacBook to feature an Intel Core i5 processor (in a way). The display resolutions on the all-in-ones are staying the same, but the underlying technology is getting a boost to provide 500 nits of brightness, which should lead to a 43 percent increase in brightness over the older models. Let us know what you think about the Apple iMac Pro 2017.
Encased in a space gray housing, the iMac Pro retains the same form factor as its recent iMac predecessors while offering massive improvements to the spec sheet. Without Touch Bars across both of Apple's most popular Mac products, we find it unlikely that major software developers like Adobe will add further support for the Touch Bar to their apps beyond their current lukewarm efforts. It's obvious by this point that few people have opted for the expensive, severely outdated Mac Pro when they could get a fully equipped, quad-core 27-inch iMac with a built-in 5K display for the same price. Apple also says the CPU upgrade allows the MacBook to address twice the maximum amount of memory compared to older models. The MacBooks are likewise getting an upgrade to Kaby Lake, and will also get new SSDs that are 50 percent faster than the previous generation, the company said. But the reason that the retail price will be so high is that the iMac Pro is a phenomenally powerful machine, and one that Apple claims actually represents value for money in comparison to similar PCs. The new GPU can fetch data at speeds of up to 400 Gbps, while being able to perform up to 11 teraflops, according to the company.
