'I Call Turbo Bullsh*t': John Oliver Shares His Thoughts on James Comey

Last Week Tonight fans tuning in Sunday likely knew what they were in for: a blistering monologue about Donald Trump's handling of the James Comey situation.

Oliver points to the Lester Holt interview in which Trump literally says the Russian Federation investigation was partially why he sacked Comey, calling it a made up story.

"It is just inherently suspicious to try and put words in Comey's mouth as you kick him out the door", Oliver said. Trump posted last week, after sharing his version of his conversations with Comey in an NBC interview with Lester Holt. Obviously there are the investigations that are now ongoing.

"Trump is so desperate to appear dominant, he will rush to take the credit for anything, no matter how bad it is", Oliver noted. It must have been someone much stronger and smarter with a much hotter daughter, ' and before they finished that sentence, Trump would be yelling, 'I did it! However, Trump later contradicted all of them in an interview with Lester Holt of NBC News when he said that he made the decision to fire Comey because "this Russian Federation thing with Trump and Russian Federation is a made-up story".

"It is the kind of response that makes you ask three questions: One, can he really be this stupid?"

China's first indigenous passenger jet completes maiden flight
Both Airbus and Boeing have assembly plants in China considering the growing demand for new aircraft. That smaller jet is a rival to aircraft made by Bombardier Inc. of Canada and Brazil's Embraer SA.

The host then called out GOP Speaker of the House Paul Ryan for refusing to answer questions about the firing. He then called on Republicans in Congress to keep pushing the investigations to continue and to press for the appointment of a special counsel within the Justice Department to look into matters.

"The point is, the founding fathers created a system of checks and balances to limit the power of the president, but it only works if someone fucking checks or balances - and if you don't, it's no longer on Trump", he concludes.

Pointing to Trump's admission of firing Comey due to the Russian Federation investigation, and his subsequent Twitter threat to Comey about these "tapes", Oliver is now telling Congress to get involved.

The late-night host wrapped up the segment comparing what Trump has been doing to a five-year-old boy going No. 2 on a salad bar in a Ruby Tuesday. Stop that boy, that's what I'm saying.
