Meanwhile giraffes around the world have beaten her to the punch, and with much less fanfare. One at the Memphis Zoo and one at the Toledo Zoo.

April the giraffe reported "major movement and bulging of the belly, noting the left side", according to an Animal Adventure Park Facebook update on Sunday morning.

The park also posted the following facts on their Facebook page.

The calf will weigh around 150lb and will be about 6′ tall at birth.

The calf with stay with April for 6-10 months then be re-homed.

Feeling our frustration, Ricky Rilley, one of the many of us who are fed up with the waiting, was challenged on Facebook to write a song entirely dedicated to April's never-ending pregnancy.

"Those long legs take a little bit of getting used to but the new calf is doing ever so well, as is mom".

Delta cancels 275 more flights days after storm disruptions
Even though they weren't holed up in a plane, stranded passengers at the Norfolk International Airport also got free pizza. In 2015, Delta handed out free pizza to Atlanta-bound passengers who were diverted to SC due to stormy weather.

Meanwhile, a rare Rothschild's giraffe was born this week in Cheshire, England - a "precious moment" that was captured on CCTV, in what the Chester Zoo called "stunning" footage. "Right now, we are working out in Africa on a conservation action plan to ensure that populations don't fall to an even more critical level".

Toledo Zoo in OH welcomed a new addition to its family this week, it was reported on Saturday (7 April).

The 8-year-old giraffe named Orla gave birth to a baby boy at the Chester Zoo while the cameras were waiting. She and her mother, Elli, won't meet the public until around Memorial Day.

But Toledo Zoo officials say they won't livestream births or similar events. "It's no different than human childbirth". A giraffe's pregnancy lasts about 15 months.

She has a great appetite and a good nature.

Animal Adventure Park has pledged to donate some of the money it raises from the April the Giraffe sponsorship, along with related merchandise it sells, to further giraffe conservation efforts around the world. "Who knows and here is to hoping!" Pretty much all of her clinical signs from a couple days ago are still true.

Once the calf is born and the sex is determined, Animal Adventures will post a contest announcement on their social media platforms where you can submit your name suggestions.
