The U.S. Marshals Service placed Loyd on its list of 15 most-wanted fugitives on Tuesday.

Details surrounding Loyd's capture were not immediately available.

Hundreds of officers and deputies have been searching for Loyd, and a $100,000 reward was being offered for information that leads to his arrest.

Police said Loyd is believed to have been wearing a bulletproof vest as he stood over Clayton and shot her to death. During what's typically called the "perp walk", a reporter asked Loyd if he had anything he wanted to say for himself.

Markeith Loyd - who was wanted for allegedly killing Master Sgt. Debra Clayton as well as a pregnant woman - was fleeing a home Tuesday when he was caught, according to cops. Loyd suffered some minor injuries from his resistance, the police chief said. Stewart was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition with gunshot wounds in his chest, right thigh and left thigh.

He is also suspected in the December shooting death of a pregnant woman, identified by media as his ex-girlfriend.

It also comes after an off-season where they lost Kyle Okposo , Frans Nielsen, and Matt Martin to other teams in free agency. The Islanders entered the season with high expectations after winning their first playoff series since 1993 past year .

Despite the manner in which Lloyd exited the house, Mina said the arresting officers were able to bring him in peacefully without incident. For allegedly pointing a weapon at Dixon's younger brother, Dominique Daniels and her mother, Stephanie Dixon Daniels, Loyd faces two counts of first-degree homicide and one count of attempted first-degree homicide and two counts of aggravated assault. Mina said that an investigation into the force used against Loyd will be conducted, which is standard procedure.

The shootings prompted a massive manhunt for the 41-year-old, during which another officer - Norman Lewis - was killed in a motorcycle crash. "They will sleep better knowing tonight that this maniac is off the streets of our community", Demings reportedly said. He said more arrests are expected.

Clayton's family released a statement about the capture, thanking police for their assistance.

"We've got him! Markeith Loyd in OPD in custody".

"If there is anyone who is harboring, aiding, abetting him in any way, they will be arrested as we've seen with the past three arrests", Mina said.

"That's a tradition in law enforcement that goes back many, many years", Mina said.
